In honor of the U.S. military service men and women who have sacrificed their lives, Saddleback Church San Clemente, a regional campus of the Lake Forest, California-based church, will be hosting special services on Sunday that include a Wounded Warrior from nearby Camp Pendleton telling a part of his life story and a visit from church founder and pastor Rick Warren.
Machine gunner Sedrick Hay, who has been a part of 2nd Battalion 1st Marines, 2nd Battalion 5th Marines and currently, the Wounded Warrior Battalion, will share his story that includes having been deployed three times, once to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan. He is a member of Saddleback Church and will lead those attending in a moment of prayer.
The Saddleback San Clemente campus has come alongside the military community at Camp Pendleton in love for several years, and has ministries that include counseling and support groups for those struggling with PSTD, monthly barbecues with Wounded Warriors, quarterly baby showers for young women in the military, and back-to-school backpack giveaways – more than 800 backpacks filled with school supplies have been given annually.
“Join us this Sunday for a special service with Pastor Rick to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” Saddleback San Clemente leaders state. “We’ll experience live music and an amazing message from Pastor Rick Warren. Immediately following the service Pastor Rick will be on hand to baptize those who are ready to take that step of faith. Come be a part of the excitement that is happening at Saddleback San Clemente this Sunday!”
