Georgia’s Kennesaw State University, the state’s third-biggest university, said on Friday the school was under lockdown because of a possible armed man on campus.
“Kennesaw State officials received a call about a suspicious man on campus (with) a possible weapon. Police are currently searching the campus” but have not located anyone, the school said on its Twitter feed.
On its website, the school said there was a possible armed man on the Campus Green.
Spokesmen for the university and campus police were not immediately available to comment.
The university is in Kennesaw, about 20 miles north of Atlanta. It has more than 24,600 students and the largest nursing program in Georgia, according to its website.
