As many as 100 immigrants were found at a suspected “stash house” in Houston, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement told KPRC-TV.
KPRC Chopper video showed immigrants, mostly men, sitting on the sidewalk outside a home in Southeast Houston Wednesday afternoon.
Police told KPRC a family arranged to have a 24-year-old woman and her two children, ages 5 and 7, smuggled in to Texas. When they didn’t show up at a drop-off point Tuesday night, the family called police.
Houston police started surveillance on the home in the 14700 block of Almeda School Road Wednesday, when officers saw a car leave the home they pulled it over and arrested two men who had guns and evidence of smuggling.
Police say when they went to the home, three men ran off, but they discovered 94 males and 15 females inside the home.
