Dillard’s Fires Employee at Dallas Store Who Yelled N-Word at Customer’s Child

Dillard’s is taking action against an employee who was confronted by a customer who says the white man hurled the N-word at him in front of his family. The encounter at the Dillard’s in Dallas was recorded in what has become a widely circulated video on social media.

Neither Dillard’s nor the relative of the customer, who recorded the video, was immediately available to comment on the situation, but the company’s Twitter account says the employee has been fired.

“The allegations made against our former employee were promptly investigated, found to be in clear violation of our standards, and his employment with Dillard’s was immediately terminated.”

In the video posted on Sunday, July 24, the Dallas shopper confronts the now former employee after he says that his son heard him use the racist remark toward the family.

Throughout the video, the shopper calmly explains the wrongs of the employee and says he should work to be better, not only to Black people, but to everyone. The employee mentions that he’d worked at the store for 20 years.
