Wendy Willams said during her show that she is ‘sick of this #MeToo movement.’
The often controversial talk show queen hit out at the movement twice during her show. The first time she touched on it while discussing a new call aimed at removing R&B singer R. Kelly from the music industry.
‘What is this? 10 years too late,’ she quipped. She went on to discuss two Atlanta women who have started a #MuteRKelly hashtag.
Wendy discussed how R. Kelly married singer Aaliyah when she was 15-years-old, the infamous tape of him peeing on an underage girl and recent allegations he has held women hostage as sex slaves.

‘The #MeToo movement hasn’t affected R. Kelly, he wasn’t a #MeToo. Aaliyah voluntarily married R. Kelly when she was 15 years old and her parents voluntarily let her do it when she was 15-years-old.
‘And that little girl that I saw with my own eyeballs that he urinated on, and had his way with, was there at his house, she let it go down.’
Wendy added: ‘Also the multiple allegations of R. Kelly holding women in his home, where are their parents? Allegedly the parents are complaining, but where are their parents?’
‘This is a whole different thing, this has nothing to do with #MeToo, R. Kelly is a very, very sick man.’
Later on in the show, while she was discussing Pamela Anderson dating a younger man, completely unrelated to the #MeToo movement, Wendy blurted ‘I’m sick of this #MeToo movement.’
‘I love that people are speaking up for the first time and speaking out and everything, but now it’s got, I look at all men like you’re a #MeToo, all of them, all of them, which is not fair,’ Wendy continued and added her ‘worst guest’ groped her on live TV.
‘And they’re asking everybody at the Grammys to wear a white rose to support the #MeToo,’ she continued as the crowd applauded.
In the wake of sexual misconduct revelations about Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey and dozens of other men, millions worldwide have shared their stories about being sexually harassed and assaulted.
The movement began spontaneously in October after actress-activist Alyssa Milano tweeted: ‘If you’ve been sexually harassed or assaulted write “me too” as a reply to this tweet.’
The hashtag was tweeted nearly a million times in 48 hours. The #MeToo movement was founded by activist Tarana Burke on Twitter a decade ago to raise awareness about sexual violence.
