B.B. King has canceled the remainder of his U.S. tour due to exhaustion and dehydration.
The 89-year-old blues guitarist fell ill during a performance Friday at the House of Blues in Chicago and was evaluated by a doctor, according to a statement posted to his Facebook page.
The remaining dates included shows in Pittsburgh, Charleston, W.V., Fort Wayne, Ind., and his own B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in New York.
Fellow musicians took to Twitter to offer well wishes to King.
“For my friend, BB King. Take care of yourself & feel better – God Bless,” tweeted guitarist Melvin Taylor. His tour opener, Hamish Anderson, tweeted, “Very sad to hear the news of BB King’s sickness and subsequent cancellation of the tour. The band and I wish him a safe speedy recovery!”
