  • He blamed either a ‘business partner’ or a ‘comms staffer’ whom he believes ‘oughta be fired today’ for pushing the idea on Trump

One of Donald Trump’s most loyal allies Steve Bannon shared his utter disbelief that the former president’s ‘major announcement’ turned out to be a line of $99 digital trading cards – and has called for whoever came up with the idea to be fired.

The former White House Chief Strategist said Thursday: ‘I can’t do this anymore. He’s one of the greatest presidents in history, but I gotta tell you: whoever – what business partner and anybody on the comms team and anybody at Mar-a-Lago – and I love the folks down there – but we’re at war. They oughta be fired today.’

Bannon, who in October was sentenced to four months in prison following his conviction on contempt of Congress charges, reacted to the anticlimactic reveal with exasperation on Right Side Broadcasting Network.

He admitted he still considers Trump one of America’s greatest presidents, but the digital trading cards were a step too far as he tries to kickstart his 2024 campaign.

Trump has been dropping in Republican polls behind Ron DeSantis, is facing a string of legal problems and is still dealing with the fallout from his Mar-a-Lago dinner with Kanye West and Nick Fuentes.

Bannon, speaking with fellow Trump White House advisors Dr. Sebastian Gorka and Steve Cortes on his show ‘The War Room,’ blamed either business partners or comms staffers who Bannon believes pushed these NFTs on Trump.

He commented that ‘you will not find three harder cores’ than he and his two co-hosts, with Bannon – who continues to support Trump – expressing that the NFTs made him look like he’s not taking the run seriously.

The former Breitbart News chairman remains out of prison on appeal after he was sentenced for his defiance of a congressional subpoena from the House January 6th committee.

Gorka shook his head and agreed with Bannon’s comments.

‘Whoever wrote that, that pitch, should be fired,’ Gorka said. ‘And should never be involved in any … I don’t want them making the presidential napkins for Mar-a-Lago … anybody who came up with that.’

‘If you want to do this kind of stuff, have a peon do it,’ he added. ‘Get somebody who’s recognized in the MAGA world to, you know, put their face to this thing and do it. But the president should not be involved with this.’

Trump left his supporters on the edge of their seats when he touted a ‘major announcement’ just weeks after he revealed his run for president again in 2024.

Speculation swirled that it could be the announcement of a rally after a pause since the midterms or a move that could upend the Republican primaries.

Despite the anticipation, it turned out to be a line of his own digital trading cards, costing $99 each and featuring him posing as various dreamed-up characters – including Superman and as a cowboy with a hunting rifle.

‘They will be gone, I believe, very quickly!’ Trump wrote on Truth Social, confirming he was joining wife Melania in the NFT game.

‘MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!,’ he said. ‘My official Donald Trump Digital Trading Card collection is here! These limited edition cards feature amazing ART of my Life & Career! Collect all of your favorite Trump Digital Trading Cards, very much like a baseball card, but hopefully much more exciting.’

CAPITOL RIOTER ANTHIME “TIM” GIONET LAMENTS HE’S GOING TO JAIL FOR “NFT SALESMAN” TRUMP

Far-right internet troll and infamous Capitol rioter Anthime “Tim” Gionet joined fellow supporters of former President Donald Trump on Twitter Thursday in expressing disappointment over Trump’s “major announcement” earlier in the day.

Gionet, better known as “Baked Alaska,” pleaded guilty in July for his part in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, according to court documents.

The online personality had live-streamed himself and other Trump supporters as they broke into the Capitol, and was captured in footage stepping into the office of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

On Thursday, Gionet lamented about his prior dedication to the former president, tweeting, “i can’t believe i’m going to jail for an nft salesman.”

According to court documents, Gionet has been charged with “parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building” and could face up to six months in prison. His sentencing hearing is currently scheduled for January 10, 2023.

Trump teased on social media earlier this week that his supporters could expect a “major announcement” on Thursday, one month after announcing his presidential bid, only to reveal on his Truth Social account his “official Donald Trump Digital Trading Card Collection,” which cost $99 each.
