Times are tough for everyone in Lebanon. But women suffer the worst of it.

Nuna with Triumphant Mercy Lebanon explains the cultural barriers many women face. “Women are suppressed like second-class citizens in many places. Women don’t feel that they are valued.”

That’s where TM Lebanon comes in. Nuna says, “We try to show them their value, how precious they are in the eyes of God, and how important they are for society.”

The ministry regularly hosts groups of women for breakfast. They can talk about their lives in an open, safe environment. Nuna says, “Some of them have been beaten; some of them are not allowed to do things at home or to go out and about.”

TM Lebanon also held a women’s retreat, bringing together all the different breakfast groups. “We brought a big bus and we took them out. They were singing in the bus. The bus driver would not believe it. He said, ‘Have you never been in a bus before? Why are you so happy, clapping and singing?’”
