A 17-year-old boy was killed early Friday while he was attending a party after his junior prom in East Baltimore, his family said.

His aunt, Jessica Hair, identified him as Jasmine “Jay” Brunson Jr.

“I want my son back,” his mother, Tiffany Hair, told FOX45’s Keith Daniels. “He was a great kid … stayed in the boxing ring, wanted to be a pro to take care of me and his sister.”

Baltimore police said Brunson was killed sometime before 3:30 a.m. inside a home in the 1700 block of East Lafayette Avenue in the city’s Broadway East section. He was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Brunson was a student at a Carver Vocational-Technical High School in West Baltimore, his English teacher Christian Miller said.
