By the Grace of God, It Looks Like a Rich Young Black Man by the Name of Lecrae Will Avoid Hubris and Self-destruction as He Humbles Himself Before God and the World, for He Is Saying What All True Christians Say Everyday: “I Am Tired of My Ego.” Here’s His Full Letter: “Let me be honest. I’m tired. Before you mistake this for a cry for help or public post that should be private. It’s not. I just want to be forthright. I’m tired of my ego. Lots of days I walk a fine line of wanting to be affirmed by strangers on the internet and inspiring them. I’m tired of subconsciously believing I have to look put together because I’m a public figure. I am just a broken human doing the best I can to follow Jesus. On my best days people see the Light in me. On my worst days I’m the poster child for someone desperately in need of the grace of God. I have more earthy treasures than I ever imagined, but I don’t want to defined by that. Underneath the designer clothing is the kid who wore knock off shoes to school and felt less than because my father abandoned me. That insecure boy is fighting everyday to be the man he should be. I’ve had it all. Grammys, number 1 albums, sold out shows, money, cars, access etc. but at the top of this celebrity mountain I can honestly say having good friends, family, love, laughs, & peace of mind is the REAL treasure. I need as much help remembering that as anyone. Thanks to my friends in LA who keep me grounded. I can honestly say coffee and tacos with y’all is always better for my soul than any party in the Hollywood hills. If you made it this far in my rant…thank you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.” Daniel Whyte III, President of Gospel Light Society International, Is Glad to Hear This Young Man Humbling Himself Because We Were Wondering With His So-called Deconstruction Talk, His Colleague Trip Lee Quitting the Pastorate, and Now Gawvi Caught Up In a Gross Sin of Not Only Sending Penis Pictures to Other Women, but as We Understand It, to Some of His Colleagues’ Wives, That Maybe Lecrae Is at Least Partly Responsible for the Culture, Depression, and Loose Atmosphere at Reach Records, and if He Would Consider Cancelling the Unashamed Tour and Have All of Them Go, That is All of the Talent and Staff of Reach Records, Go on a Sabbatical and Spend Some Time With Dr. Tony Evans Together, Including Gawvi and His Wife if Possible (for He and His Wife Are Too Young and His Children Are Too Young to Give Up on That Marriage) and Get Their Hearts Right With God and Their Heads Straight and Do the Tour After That.
