The mother of a black 14-year-old boy who was seen in a viral video being tackled by two police officers, at a New Jersey mall after a fight with a white-passing teen who was allowed to walk free – says she wants the cops to be stripped of their badges.

Z’Kye Husain was tackled, pinned down and arrested after fighting with the older boy, who has only been named as Joey, at Bridgewater Commons Mall on February 13.

Cellphone footage of his arrest, while Joey, who says he’s Latino, was allowed to walk away, sparked outrage after it went viral and has sparked an investigation by the local prosecutor’s office.

Now Husain and his mother Eboné have hit out at the cops – and demanded to know why it was the black teen who was arrested.

‘I hate to say this, but if it wasn’t for race, then what is it?” Eboné asked during an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon. ‘What made them tackle my son and not the other kid? What made them be so aggressive with my son and not the other kid? Why is the other kid sitting down looking at my son be humiliated and put into cuffs? It just doesn’t make sense. It makes me angry.’

Eboné, who has retained the services of renowned civil rights attorney Ben Crump, demanded that the officers be fired.

‘I want their badges taken away,’ Eboné said, ‘because if they’ll do it now, I’m sure they’ve done it before, and what will they do in the future?’
