A Texas man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a driver who authorities believe was using his driveway to turn his car around.

Terry Turner, 65, was indicted on a first-degree murder charge Wednesday in the death of Adil Dghoughi, 31, outside his home in Martindale, about 50 miles from Austin, Caldwell County District Attorney Fred Weber said.

“It is our belief that [Dghoughi] was trying to get to his girlfriend’s residence, and he went to the wrong house,” Weber said.

Turner told authorities he woke up on Oct. 11 and saw a strange car parked in the driveway of his house, according to court documents.

Turner claimed that he grabbed his gun and chased the car as it was backing out of the driveway. But when the driver pulled a gun on him, he fired a single shot into the car.
