Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman and Marine Corps Commander Have COVID-19

According to Joint Chiefs of Staff spokesperson Col. Dave Butler, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley has tested positive for COVID-19. Milley is in self-isolation and is performing his daily duties remotely from a location where heis able to carry out his work unhindered. Milley has received the vaccine as well as a booster shot.

Gen. David Berger, commandant of the Marine Corps, tested positive for COVID-19 as well. He is still able to carry out his daily duties.

Earlier this month, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said he had tested positive for COVID-19 and was experiencing mild symptoms while quarantining at home. Austin, who said he was fully vaccinated and received a booster in October, tested negative about a week later.
