A gunman was caught on camera on fatally shooting a New York City mother-of-two, 39, while she was getting in her car to go to work.
The shooting happened when Dawn Peterson left her home on Foch Boulevard and 155th Street in Jamaica, Queens just before 6:30 a.m. on Friday to go to work.
In the video, the shooter opens fire on Peterson multiple times from a distance, then fires from close range one time as they scamper away.
Surveillance video showed the gunman driving away in a silver sedan.
Peterson was found lying in the street with multiple wounds to her chest and back. She was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead after attempts to revive her. Her death has been ruled a homicide.
Police have no details yet on the suspect, including whether or not they knew Peterson, who leaves behind an 18-year-old son and three-year-old daughter.
