First of all, the famous alumni need to accept the fact that there is possibly some serious corruption somewhere at Howard University for this is not the first time in recent years that something like this has happened. This is going to be hard to accept by the famous alumni of Howard University which has been considered the Harvard of all HBCUs, but they are going to have to face this truth and then they are going to have to privately demand that the corruption ends.
Secondly, alumna Vice President Kamala Harris needs to have someone in the government do a respectful, soft investigation for possible corruption at Howard University.
Third, since this is an embarrassment and a shame to the history of Howard and to the famous alumni and everybody connected with Howard, famous alumni such as the following: former Mayor Adrian Fenty, former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Espy, former Mayor of Atlanta Shirley Franklin, first African American woman elected Attorney General of New York Letitia James, Vashti McKenzie, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Victor Blackwell, Fredricka Whitfield, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Richard Smallwood, Anthony Anderson, Phylicia Rashad, Debbie Allen, Taraji P. Henson, Marlon Wayans, and others ought to mobilize their people and their money to get the students off the street and into hotel rooms, and pay for the most powerful pest control company and rat killers to clean that campus up so the young people can study in peace and then hold the administration accountable and make sure somebody’s head rolls.
Again, Jesse Jackson should never have been at the school trying to help with that situation at the age of 80 and just coming off of being diagnosed with coronavirus. If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were still alive, he would have never been there for that but if he were he would have said as only he could, ‘I have a dream that there would be no more fat rats in the Howard dorm rooms and no more fat cats in the Howard administration’.
Jesse Jackson is hospitalized after he fell and hit his head at Howard University
The Rev. Jesse Jackson was hospitalized Monday in Washington, D.C. after falling and hitting his head while helping Howard University students who are protesting living conditions on campus, according to a spokesman.
The 80-year-old Chicago civil rights leader was entering a campus building when he fell and hit his head, according to Jackson spokesman Frank Watkins.
Jackson’s staff took him to Howard University Hospital for various tests including a CT scan which came back normal. Watkins said Jackson would be kept at the hospital overnight for observation.
“Family, he’s resting comfortably and doing well,” Santita Jackson, one of Jackson’s daughters, posted on Twitter along with a story from The Grio about his fall.
Jackson was attending a meeting with Howard President Wayne A.I. Frederick and the students, who were discussing their complaints about living conditions, according to Watkins.
Jackson, who has Parkinson’s disease, has already been hospitalized twice this year. He checked into a Chicago hospital for a breakthrough COVID-19 infection in August and required weeks of physical therapy as COVID affected his Parkinson’s and his ability to walk and talk. He also underwent gallbladder surgery earlier in the year.
Since being released from the hospital for COVID-19 treatment and physical therapy, Jackson has resumed an active travel and public speaking schedule.
