Mother sues Alabama hospital over the death of her newborn baby in ICU during ransomware attack claiming it failed to prepare for hack

Alabama woman Teiranni Kidd said her daughter (pictured) was born with a brain injury and later died after being delivered at Springhill Memorial Hospital during a ransomware attack. She is now suing the hospital, which she said failed to take precautions that might have prevented her daughter from being injured. The hospital was targeted by unidentified hackers in July 2019, and said it shut its network down to protect its data.
