In new interview with New York Magazine, Simone Biles says she ‘should have quit gymnastics way before Tokyo’ – revealing the trauma of Larry Nassar’s sexual abuse became ‘too much’ to handle ahead of troubled Olympics

Biles, 24, opened up about her mental health struggles at the Tokyo Olympics in July in a new cover interview with New York Magazine. The gymnast said she should have ‘never made another Olympic team’ after everything she has gone through over the past seven years. Biles admitted she ‘should have quit’ gymnastics long before Tokyo, but she didn’t want Larry Nassar to take that away from her. The Olympian said the trauma of being sexually abused by Nassar and seeing the former USA Gymnastics doctor in the media was ‘too much.’
