Pastor’s Wife Released From Jail After Shooting Husband in Fatal Accident

SAN DIEGO — A woman arrested after her husband, a San Diego pastor, was fatally shot in their Lemon Grove home earlier this week will be released from jail without charges filed as the investigation continues, a District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman said.
The Rev. Noah Shepherd, 29, was shot about 6 p.m. Monday at the couple’s home on Camino de las Palmas. His 26-year-old wife, Gabriella Rose Shepherd called 911 and said she’d accidently shot him as he was coming in through a back door. Sheriff’s detectives later arrested her on suspicion of murder.

Gabriella Shepherd was slated to be arraigned Thursday, but instead will be released from jail, where she had been held without bail.

“We are not filing charges at this time,” District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Tanya Sierra said. “The investigation is ongoing and we will review the case as we get more information.”

Noah Shepherd was a pastor with San Diego Reformed Presbyterian Church in Rolando. An autopsy revealed he died of multiple gunshot wounds, sheriff’s homicide Lt. Tom Seiver said.
