Reporters Without Borders Asks ICC to Investigate Israel’s Bombing of Building Housing AP, Al Jazeera Journalists

The al-Jalaa building housing Associated Press (AP) and Al Jazeera media offices is hit by an Israeli air strike in Gaza City, May 15, 2021.

Media watchdog Reporters Without Borders asked the International Criminal Court to investigate Israel’s bombing of a Gaza City building housing journalists from the Associated Press and Al Jazeera and view this as a possible war crime.

Thus far, Israel has not offered an explanation as to why it leveled the 12-story al-Jalaa tower.

The AP journalists and other tenants were given an hour to evacuate the building stating that Hamas was using the building as a military intelligence office and weapons development.

“We’re in the middle of fighting,” Israeli military spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said Sunday. She stated that Israel was putting together evidence for the U.S.
