Seahawks WR DK Metcalf Finishes Last in 100-Meter Dash

Seattle Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf finished in 10.37 seconds in the 100-meter race but that was not fast enough when compared to Cravon Gillespie’s 10.11 seconds declaring Gillespie the winner. Metcalf finished last against nine participants. He graciously accepted his loss having gained a new respect for the track athletes.

“These are world-class athletes,” Metcalf said during the broadcast on NBC streaming service Peacock. “It’s very different from football speed, from what I just realized.”

Metcalf who stands at 6-foot-4 ran 4.33 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine before the 2019 draft. Track standouts were eager to see Metcalf show up for the race as they are always challenging speedy athletes in other sports. Other Olympians – Rodgers, a 2016 Olympian; Ato Boldon, a four-time Olympic medal winner; Devon Allen, a 2016 Olympian; and Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes – applauded Metcalf for his efforts.
