A baby had an adorable reaction to his first haircut and could not stop giggling as the barber trimmed his locks.
In the cute video, baby Mateus, who is nine months old, headed to his local barbers for the first time with his mother, Marina Garcia Spadim Pereira.
While Mateus sat in the salon in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the hairdresser got to work on the youngster’s long, curly locks.
Almost immediately, he began to giggle as the barber grabbed his hair and started to trim.
Marina, 31, captured the moment on video, amazed at how her son was coping with the strange and new experience.
She said she wanted to share her child’s joy during his January 16 trim as a way of brightening others’ days.
Marina added: ‘It was Mateus’ first haircut so we didn’t expect him to have this reaction and to not stop laughing.
‘I was delighted with his joy, and everyone in the room stayed to watch – it was very spontaneous and he really liked it.
‘It was really nice to see people’s reaction to the video, a child’s smile can turn someone’s day around.
‘Sometimes you can be having a bad day and find a video like Mateus’, and it makes you happy.
‘Happiness is in small things.’
However, Mateus and his hair has someway to go before it can beat one-year-old Lottie Batchelor, from Lyndhurst, Hampshire, who was born with thick black hair that grew 10 inches in a year.
Her mother Emily has to use an abundance of hair products to keep Lottie’s locks tamed – including conditioner, anti-frizz serum, detangler, curl serum and curl spray.
The full-time mother also has to style Lottie’s hair every day, which adds an extra 20 minutes to her morning routine.
Lottie’s hair is almost the same length as her six-year-old sister Evie’s, with many thinking the one-year-old is a lot older than she actually is.
Emily explained: ‘When she was born, I was surprised by how dark her hair was and how much of it there was – I wasn’t expecting it at all.
‘Her hair was the first thing people would notice when they met her; people were always commenting on it, saying how lucky she was to have so much.
‘She’s never lost any – it’s just got thicker and thicker.’
