There’s a devil loose: Former detective is arrested after shooting dead his wife, his teen daughter and her football player boyfriend in Austin, Texas – months after being fired for raping 16-year-old family member

The wife of a killer Austin police who killed his daughter, daughter’s boyfriend and another woman on Sunday begged a judge not to let him be free last year, saying she thought he was going to hurt their family.

Stephen Broderick was arrested on Monday walking along U.S. 290 after two people phoned police. He was taken into custody without incident but had a pistol in his waistband.

He is now being held on two counts of capital murder.

On Sunday, Broderick shot Amanda dead, his daughter Alyssa and Alyssa’s boyfriend, Willie Simmons, then went on the run.

Amanda’s attorney, who had been fighting to protect her from Stephen, confirmed her death to DailyMail.com on Monday.

Alyssa and Willie were both named by their school district. Another child, believed to be Broderick’s son, was not harmed. Amanda was named by a friend on social media.

Broderick was a cop until June 2020, when he was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

While police never named the child sex assault victim, they did say it was a family member whose mother reported the crime. In family court, Amanda said she feared he would seek revenge on her and the kids because the allegation had been made public.
