12 People Missing After Commercial Boat Capsizes in Gulf of Mexico During Storm

A large commercial boat with nearly 20 people aboard capsized Tuesday in the Gulf of Mexico south of Grand Isle, La.

Six people have been rescued from the flipped boat by the Coast Guard and several private boats, federal officials said.

The 265-foot lift boat was carrying 18 people when it flipped, Nola.com reported.

The accident reportedly happened around 4:30 p.m. as a powerful storm battered the New Orleans area.
