This is Daniel Whyte III with the Second Coming Watch Update. This is update #956. Let’s take a quick look at today’s prophecy-related headlines which point towards the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and the end of the world as we know it.
First, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to the Jerusalem Post, the RIA news agency cited Moscow’s ambassador to Tehran as saying Russia plans to hold joint naval drills with Iran and China in the Indian Ocean later this month. The three countries held similar naval drills in the Indian Ocean in December 2019. Levan Dzhagaryan [LEH-VAHN ZAHR-GAR-YAHN], the ambassador, told RIA in an interview, “The next multilateral naval exercises will take place in the northern part of the Indian Ocean in mid-February 2021.” He said the drills would rehearse search and rescue operations and ensuring the safety of shipping. Speaking in 2019, Iranian flotilla admiral Gholamreza Tahani [GOH-LOHM-REY-ZAH TAH-HAH-NEE] said that the result of the exercise is “to show that Iran cannot be isolated.”
Second, today, under the Sign category of EARTHQUAKES IN DIVERS PLACES — According to ABC News, The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said “widespread hazardous tsunami waves” were possible after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck the South Pacific Ocean. There’s no tsunami threat to Hawaii or Guam [GWAAM]. A brief tsunami watch for the U.S. territory American Samoa [SUH-MOW-UH] has since been dropped. The Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre said there’s no tsunami threat to Australia.
Third, today, under the Sign category of RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF ISRAEL — According to Roll Call, The White House confirmed Tuesday that President Joe Biden intends to keep the U.S. Embassy to Israel in Jerusalem, where it was relocated during the Trump administration. The issue of where to locate the embassy has been a fixture of negotiations over Israeli and Palestinian territory and authority for decades. A White House spokesperson confirmed that “The U.S. position is that our embassy will remain in Jerusalem, which we recognize as Israel’s capital. The ultimate status of Jerusalem is a final status issue which will need to be resolved by the parties in the context of direct negotiations.”
Fourth, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to Ynet News, an IDF intelligence report published Tuesday said Lebanon’s Hezbollah terror group is looking to initiate a “limited offensive” against Israel for the first time since the Second Lebanon War in 2006. The Intelligence Directorate report said over the past few weeks they’ve identified the initiative on the part of the Iran-backed group to spark an escalation, similar to those initiated by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The intelligence analysis says the group has a trained “shock” unit, which it will utilize for a limited offensive lasting two to three days, without being dragged into an all-out war. The IDF says at least two incidents occurred on the northern frontier over the past week that might point to an increase in tensions in the area and Hezbollah’s intentions.
Fifth, today, under the Sign category of RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF ISRAEL — According to the Jerusalem Post, News of rapprochement between Israel and Turkey is heating up after years of ebb and flow in their diplomatic ties. According to Turkish officials, the once-close allies are eager to kick-start their renewed relations soon. Both countries expelled their ambassadors in May 2018 over the killing of dozens of Palestinians by Israeli forces along the Gaza border and following Washington’s decision to relocate its embassy to Jerusalem. Turkey and Israel have had a bitter falling out in recent years. Ankara repeatedly has condemned Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and its treatment of Palestinians. Dr. Hay Ey-tan Cohen Ya-na-ro-cak, an expert on Turkey from the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security and the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies at Tel Aviv University, says that despite the “constructive” signals that are coming from both sides, there won’t be any major steps forward until the “crystallization” of the results of next month’s Israeli elections. A change in leadership in Israel, he adds, may speed up the warming up of ties.

The prophetic passage of Scripture that we are looking at today is Ezekiel 37:26-28 which reads: “Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the heathen shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.”
Allow me to share with you some commentary on this passage from Exploring Bible Prophecy from Genesis to Revelation, by Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson.
The term miqdash (“holy place”) was the usual word for the temple, whereas mishkan (“dwelling place”) was regularly used to speak of the tabernacle. Here both terms are used (as they are of the heavenly temple in Revelation) in continuity with the previous sacred structures and to emphasize the fulfillment of the divine design to bridge heaven and earth through a theocratic government. Exodus 25:8 had declared that the original purpose of the sanctuary was to make possible the presence of the holy God in the midst of unholy Israel. Through the ceremonial service, Israel was kept in a state of ritual purification so it could serve the Lord as “a holy nation and a kingdom of priests”. The return of the Lord to the tabernacle at the foot of Mount Sinai reversed the long absence of the Creator from His creation, which had resulted from the intrusion of human sin in the Garden of Eden. Once constructed, the earthly sanctuary–with its Ark of the Covenant topped by cherubim–allowed God’s presence to return to Israel and made possible the establishment of a theocratic form of government. Since the desecration of the first temple and the departure of God’s presence, Israel has experienced the condition of exile either in part or in whole.

If you are not ready for the return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how.
First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”
Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
