This is Daniel Whyte III with the Second Coming Watch Update. This is update #927. Let’s take a quick look at today’s prophecy-related headlines which point towards the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and the end of the world as we know it.
First, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to Israel National News, The Hamas Islamic organization warned that any attack on the al-Aqsa Mosque would ignite a war, emphasizing that the current situation will not last forever, as “the enemy will pay for the attack on al-Aqsa.” In a statement Hamas said that the “Zionist repression juggernaut” would not be able to withstand the popular protest in Jerusalem, which could block the plans of the “occupation.” In this regard, the Hamas movement called the decision of the Israeli court approving the closure of the Muslim prayer house at the Old City wall’s Gate of Mercy “preparation for constructing a synagogue on the site,” and a “dangerous scheme” whose implementation Jerusalem [Arab] residents will not allow. The Hamas organization called on their public in Jerusalem and “the Palestinians and those in the occupied territories of 1948” to demonstrate a firm stand and hold on to the al-Aqsa Mosque so as prevent the “occupation” from implementing its plans.
Second, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to Daily Mail, A boy aged 15 has died from bubonic plague in Mongolia as dozens of people who had contact with him are in isolation over the deadly disease. The fatality comes as Russia and China were warned that they are vulnerable to the spread of the Black Death. The unnamed teenager had a high fever after eating marmot meat with two friends. He died three days after eating the rodent meat, according to reports. His contacts have all been reached to halt the risk of the disease spreading. The bubonic plague is a bacterial disease spread by fleas living on wild rodents like marmots. It kills in less than 24 hours if not treated promptly.
Third, today, under the Sign category of THE RISE OF THE KINGS OF THE EAST — According to The Jerusalem Post, With Iran and China working on a multibillion-dollar 25-year economic and security deal, Israel has many reasons to be concerned and even alarmed. The proposed agreement, leaked to The New York Times, which reported on it on Saturday, would lead to a closer military relationship between Tehran and Beijing, including joint military exercises, research and weapons development and intelligence sharing. It would also increase Chinese investments in Iranian banking, telecommunications and transportation, such as airports and railways. China would reportedly get a discounted supply of Iranian oil in return. The document describes the countries as “two ancient Asian countries… with a similar outlook” that “will consider one another strategic partners.” Neither side has publicly confirmed that the document is genuine, that they have signed it or that there is any such agreement.
Fourth, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to The Jerusalem Post, Iran’s head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds [KUDS] Force Esmail Ghaani [IS-MAY-EL GA-AH-NEE] slammed the US and Israel and said both countries would be punished and that only ‘difficult’ days were ahead. He praised a fire aboard a US ship, the Bonhomme [BO-NOM] Richard as divine punishment. ‘America lit a fire and today is on fire.’ Ghaani [GA-AH-NEE] added that Iran and the IRGC Quds [KUDS] Force were warning America that hard days are ahead. This appears to be a cryptic threat. He said the US military is tired and worn out and that US ships are just scraps of iron. Iran has warned that it could retaliate for recent mysterious explosions that affected its Natanz [NAH-TANZ] nuclear enrichment facility.
Fifth, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to Israel National News, The Alma Center’s Research Department initiated a project to find the locations of missile launching sites in South Lebanon adjacent to the civilian population, as part of what is known as the “Human Shield tactic”. In their report, Alma notes that, despite the fact that a large proportion of Hezbollah’s missiles are located in south Lebanon, the information in public sources on the subject is scarce. The report states, “The first locations we found were all close to civilian infrastructure, which drove us to further the research on the subject and thus find 28 missile launching locations and the sites connected with these locations”. According to the report, the missiles are medium-range missiles – “The same as those subject to the Hezbollah missile precision guided missile project)”. According to Alma, Hezbollah plans to launch these weapons toward civilian targets and population concentrations in Israel from within or adjacent to residential buildings.
The prophetic passage of Scripture that we are looking at today is Ezekiel 34. Ezekiel 34:22-24 reads: “Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle. And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. And I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the Lord have spoken it.”
Allow me to share with you some commentary on this passage from Exploring Bible Prophecy from Genesis to Revelation, by Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson.
The phrase “covenant of peace” is a synonym for the New Covenant and describes its function of making and maintaining universal peace for Israel and also for the nations. The advent of the messianic King was predicted to bring an unending reign of peace, for He is the “Prince of Peace,” and peace characterizes His government. Elsewhere the covenant of peace is described in terms of the cessation of war and of military disarmament, of exceptional agricultural prosperity in the land, and of the building of the Messianic temple.
The description of material renewal in the millennial kingdom first announces the changed conditions (“there will no longer be”) that fulfill the promise of blessings Israel would receive for obeying the previous covenants. The spiritual renewal of the millennial kingdom is indicated by use of the covenantal formula in Ezekiel 34:30: “I, the LORD their God…they are My people,” but with the clarification that “My people” are “the house of Israel,” a reaffirmation that there will be a future for national Israel after its national repentance and return to the Lord. Verse 31 restates this covenantal relationship in terms of the shepherd/sheep motif that has distinguished this chapter. Here, too, there is a significant addition explaining that the sheep are men and the Shepherd is God. This serves as a reminder that the previous description of restoration is to be interpreted as literal conditions to be experienced by national Israel in the millennial kingdom rather than as symbols of spiritual blessings applied to the church.
If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at the prophetic passages of the Bible in our next broadcast / podcast.
Our Second Coming quote for today is from Oswald Chambers. He said, “The only way to wait for the Second Coming is to watch that you do what you should do, so that when he comes is a matter of indifference. It is the attitude of a child, certain that God knows what he is about. When the Lord does come, it will be as natural as breathing. God never does anything hysterical, and he never produces hysterics.”
If you are not ready for the return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how.
First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”
Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
