When Police and Protesters Come Together: Officers in New Jersey, Ferguson and Flint Show Solidarity with George Floyd Demonstrators by Walking Alongside Them and Taking a Knee

Police in New Jersey, Ferguson, Missouri, and Flint, Michigan, drew praises after joining in solidarity with George Floyd protestors this weekend. Cops in Camden (bottom left), one of New Jersey’s most violent cities, walked with demonstrators in a procession led by long-time Camden County Police Chief Joe Wysocki. Cops in Ferguson (bottom right) took a knee as demonstrators kneeled for 9 1/2 minutes to recall when Floyd was pinned down by the neck for the same amount of time during the fatal police arrest that took his life in Minneapolis on Monday. In Flint (top), Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson exclaimed ‘These cops love you,’ before he also joined demonstrators on a march to the city’s police station.
