Washington Redskins wide receiver Cody Latimer was arrested late Friday by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and booked early Saturday on five charges after police say shots were fired inside a Colorado apartment five miles from the Denver Broncos’ practice facilities.
Latimer, who played for the Broncos from 2014-2017, posted bond of $25,000 after being detained at the Douglas County Detention Facility. According to the police report, the 27-year-old was charged with assault in the second degree, menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
The police report detailed that neighbors head arguing in an apartment before hearing what they thought were gunshots. When Douglas County deputies arrived on the scene, three individuals were detained and Latimer was arrested. One person had minor injuries unrelated to gunshots, and no other injuries were reported.
“We are aware of the situation and have informed the NFL League Office,” the Redskins told ESPN. “We will continue to gather more information and have no further comment at this time.”
