Jennifer Lopez declares she’s a ‘proud mama’ after 12-year-old daughter Emme authored an upcoming children’s book Lord Help Me inspired by her ‘own daily prayers’
Jennifer Lopez‘s 12-year-old daughter Emme Muñiz has written a children’s book about prayer and her A-list mom couldn’t be prouder.
The 50-year-old star gushed on Instagram about her ‘lil coconut’ authoring the upcoming book, Lord Help Me, and shared the illustrated cover in a new post on Wednesday.
This marks the second dream-come-true moment for the pre-teen this year as she also made a surprise appearance during her mom’s Super Bowl Half-Time show performance in February.
Jennifer posted two new photos of Emme on Instagram, one getting a smooch from a camel and another holding a mock up of her new book to celebrate the big news.
She penned in the caption: ‘So proud of my lil coconut Emme, as she shares her own daily prayers in her very first book LORD HELP ME!’
‘This book will offer families a way to embrace the peace and power of everyday faith,’ she continued.
JLo also shared a snap of the book cover, which featured a different illustration than the one that Emme held in the snap.
The cover, illustrated by Brenda Figueroa, shows a cartoon version of Emme kneeling at the edge of her bed saying evening prayers alongside a cartoon sloth sidekick.
Crown Brooks for Young Readers revealed in a press release that the picture book, which is aimed at 3-7 year olds, was inspired by Emme’s own life experiences with prayer.
‘In school, I learned about sloths and how they’re facing extinction so I began to pray for them in my nightly prayers,’ said Muñiz in the release.
‘I wrote this book to help raise money to save sloths while also teaching other children how we can pray and ask for help, two things that bring me a lot of comfort.’
Emme’s impressive new feather in her cap has reportedly been in the works for some time now and continues to show her breadth of talent as such a young age.
In February, she made a surprise cameo on stage with her mom during the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime show.
Her performance of Let’s Get Loud earned her rave reviews and fans were floored at how comfortable the 12-year-old seemed on the world’s biggest stage.
Emme and her twin brother Max are the progenies of Jennifer and her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
The singers wed in 2004 but later ended their relationship, officially divorcing in 2014. Lopez is currently engaged to former Major League Baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
Lord Help Me, Inspiring Prayers for Everyday will be released in both English and Spanish on September 29 but it is available for pre-order.
