THERE IS MORE SAID IN THE PODCAST AUDIO THAN IN THE NOTES BELOW
Welcome to the How to Stay the Coronavirus Plague Briefing Podcast #39. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International.
2 Samuel 24:21 and 25 says, “And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.” “And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.”
The Bible Knowledge Commentary says, “After David received the report, he realized his sin of pride and self-sufficiency and confessed this sin (which he called a very foolish thing) to the Lord. The Lord then sent Gad, a prophet, to David with a list of three calamities from which he could choose and by which the Lord would register His displeasure and purge out the evil. The choices were three years of famine, three months of enemy pursuit, and three days of pestilence. David chose the third option, throwing himself on the mercy of God. The result was a plague which took the lives of 70,000 people. When Jerusalem itself was threatened, the Lord intervened and commanded His angelic destroyer to desist. David then confessed his own personal sin and urged the Lord to spare His innocent people. Then, in order to make proper restitution and atonement, David arranged to construct an altar to the Lord. Gad told him that it must be built on the threshing floor of Araunah, a citizen of Jerusalem, since it was there that the angel had been commanded to cease his destruction of the city. According to well-founded tradition, this threshing floor, a wide, smooth, ledge-like surface, was on Mount Moriah, just outside the northern wall of David’s Jerusalem. But David had no right to it because it was owned by a citizen. When Araunah learned of David’s desire, however, he was willing not only to give the threshing floor to the king but also to provide the wood and sacrifices needed. To this gracious offer David could only give a negative response. How could he sacrifice to the Lord what cost him nothing? That would be a denial of the very meaning of sacrifice. Araunah therefore sold him the threshing floor and oxen for 50 shekels of silver. Fifty shekels was about 1 1/2 pounds of silver. The silver David paid was only for the oxen and the threshing floor, and the 600 shekels mentioned in 1 Chronicles 21:25 was for the lot of land surrounding the threshing floor. Having obtained the site, David built the altar, offered the sacrifices, and interceded on behalf of his people. God heard and answered, and the land was healed of the plague. This was where Abraham had offered Isaac. And on this same spot Solomon later constructed his magnificent temple.”
REPENT!
2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Revelation 2:4-5 says, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”
Leonard Ravenhill said, “Where,oh,where are the eternity-conscious believers? Where are the souls white-hot for God because they fear His holy name and presence and so live with eternity’s values in view?”
NEWS
According to Johns Hopkins University the United States recorded 2,502 coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours. After two days of a relative easing in the toll on Sunday and Monday, the numbers have spiked again the past two days.
According to Daily Mail a Top coronavirus model predicts that 100,000 Americans will be dead by the end of this summer’s first wave as the death toll has passed Trump’s best case scenario of 60,000 dead.
According to the Sun the world is “on a knife edge” as coronavirus cases spike and cities shut down again after lockdowns are lifted. The dangers of easing restrictions have been highlighted this week after Germany and Spain saw cases spike as they try to edge out of quarantine, while China was forced to tighten regulations to fight off a “second wave”.

Psalms 29:2 says, “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.”
Jason Helopoulos saidm, “Family worship Provides Systematic Discipleship – As a pastor I often have individuals approach me with a question about how to minister to their children or spouse in a specific area. Usually they are concerned about a particular sin or struggle in their family member’s life. In this way we serve as firefighters rushing to extinguish this issue or that. At times this is needed, but it should not be our regular course of action. Systematic discipleship is a much better approach and is aided by family worship. Daily family worship will provide a strong foundation that is built upon hearing the Word daily, praying daily, and giving thanks daily. It takes time to build a strong house. It is an unsteady house that is the result of the carpenter running from shaky wall to shaky wall to hammer a nail in here or there.”

Now, if you are with us today and you do not know Jesus Christ as your Savior, allow me to show you how you can place your faith and trust in Him for Salvation from sin and Hell.
First, please understand that you are a sinner and that you have broken God’s laws. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Please understand that because of your sins, you deserve punishment in hell. Romans 6:23 says “the wages of sin is death…” This is both physical death and spiritual death in hell.
But here is the good news. John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The phrase “For God so loved the world” means that if you are in this world, God loves you no matter what you have done.
The next phrase, “that He gave His only begotten Son” refers to Jesus Christ. He is God’s son who suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins and for mine, and He was buried and rose again.
Our next phrase is “that whosoever believeth in Him”. The word “whosoever” means anybody at anytime. The phrase “believeth in Him” means to trust in Him, to depend upon Him, to rely on Him, or to have faith in Him for your salvation.
Our next phrase, “should not perish”, refers to eternal punishment in a place called hell.
And, lastly, the phrase “but have everlasting life” means to live eternally in Heaven with God.
The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.
If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!
