Floyd Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend and mother of 3 of his children, Josie Harris, has died.
TMZ Sports is reporting that Harris was found unresponsive in her car at her home in Valencia, California, around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Harris and Mayweather, who dated from 1995 to 2010, had a violent relationship. The boxing legend spent 2 months in the Clark County Detention Center after he was convicted of attacking her in Las Vegas in September 2010.
During the attack, their oldest son, Koraun, snuck out of the home and alerted a security guard, who called the police. It was not the first time that police had been called to the Las Vegas residence.
Mayweather later told Katie Couric that he was simply try to restrain Harris, who was high on drugs during the incident.
Harris said at the time that the fight began after a night out with the boxer that ended with him accusing of her of dating other men, even though the pair was separated at the time, and wanting to know her whereabouts when they were not together
Harris turned around and sued Mayweather for $20 million in 2015.
In 2018, Harris went to court and filed emergency documents, asking a judge to force Mayweather to return their 17-year-old son Zion from Las Vegas to Los Angeles.
Harris said that Zion had left California without her permission and she did not believe the boxer’s lifestyle, which includes being an owner of a strip club, was appropriate for a 17-year-old child.
