Encore Boston Harbor Casino To Start Taking Temperatures Of Guests Who Appear to Have Symptoms of Illness Amid Coronavirus

Encore Boston Harbor is taking new steps in response to the coronavirus. The Everett hotel and casino has announced it will soon start taking the temperature of people coming through its doors who might be sick.

“We will soon begin temperature screening guests and employees entering our resort,” Encore said in a statement.

The casino later clarified that it will be taking the temperatures of guests “who are exhibiting symptoms of illness – coughing, sneezing, sweating, etc.”

“With their permission, we are discretely taking their temperature with a non-contact, digital thermometer,” Encore said. “Guests with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will be asked to leave our property and encouraged to seek medical attention for further screening or treatment.”

The casino also said it is increasing cleaning throughout the casino.
