Murder suspect Fotis Dulos has died two days after a suicide attempt outside his home, his lawyer has said.

Attorney Norm Pattis said his client died just after 5.30pm.

The 52-year-old had been clinging to life in Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, after trying to take his own life at his home in Farmington, Connecticut, on Tuesday.

Shortly before midday Tuesday, police officers performing a wellness check when he did not show at court, found Dulos, inside his garage with a hosepipe taped to his exhaust in an attempted suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.

They dragged him into the fresh air, performed CPR and rushed him to the hospital. At one point he was legally dead before being revived.

He was on bail accused of murdering his estranged wife Jennifer Dulos when he died.

His attorney Pattis added: ‘Mr. Dulos was tried and convicted in the court of public opinion. Now he has been executed. We remain committed to demonstrating he did not murder Jennifer.’

It emerged earlier Thursday that Dulos left a note protesting his innocence over Jennifer’s murder before unsuccessfully attempting suicide in his home.

Documents obtained by showed that Fotis’ new girlfriend Anna K. Curry, 42, had put up $147,000 in cash and said she would pay an additional $272,000 to secure the $6million bond that Dulos posted after he was charged with the murder of his estranged wife.

Curry was seen at Dulos’ home at 4 Jefferson Crossing in Farmington, Connecticut, on Tuesday in the hours before he was due to attend a hearing at Stamford Superior Court where he feared his bond would be revoked and he would be jailed.

Sources confirmed that Curry, who bears a striking resemblance to Dulos’ missing wife Jennifer and his ex-girlfriend Michelle Troconis, who has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, was in a romantic relationship with him.

A neighbor told ‘A young woman has been at Fotis’ house several times over the past few months. They’ve been out jogging together. She’s been driving one of his cars.’

Curry lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, and works in financial services.
