Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #666.
My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.
First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.
The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ gave them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the Coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
First, today, under the Sign category of THE MARK OF THE BEAST — According to The Wall Street Journal, Amazon is reportedly working to create payment terminals where shoppers can connect their credit card information to their hand print, allowing them to check out from brick-and-mortar stores with a wave. The multi-billion dollar company plans to offer services to fast-food restaurants, coffee shops and other places that have frequent repeat customers. The plans for the terminals are in the early stages, but Amazon began working with Visa to test transactions on the terminals and is in discussions with Mastercard. Amazon imagines customers linking their debit or credit cards information to checkout terminals and then letting the devices scan their hands. The company is said to be weighing options on to successfully implement the method, including customers inserting their card into a terminal and then allowing their hands to be scanned. After that, customers would only need to place their hands over the checkout terminal to purchase items. Amazon recently filed a patent for a ‘non-contact biometric identification system’ that incorporates ‘a hand scanner that generates images of a user’s palm.’ Amazon’s latest alleged venture marks another instance of big tech wading into the financial industry.
Second, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to Al Jazeera, The leaders of major Shia armed groups in Iraq gathered in Iran’s city of Qom [KOM] earlier this month to coordinate efforts to expel the United States’ troops in Iraq. Mohammad Mohie [MO-HEE], spokesman of the Iran-backed Shia paramilitary group Kataib [KAH-TEEB] Hezbollah, said that the meeting held on January 13 aimed to coordinate future action among the armed groups. Mohie [MO-HEE] said, “That meeting was very important to coordinate our actions, activities and the resistance for the next step. The Americans may stay in Iraq and challenge us, so we are coordinating among ourselves.” He added that populist Shia leader, Muqtada al-Sadr [MOK-TADA AL-SA-DEER], who leads the Sairoon [SAIR-OON] bloc in parliament and lives in Qom [KOM], had called the meeting. It also included Asaib Ahl al-Haq [AH-SAY-EB AHL AL-HAK], the Shia armed group led by Qais al-Khazali [KEZ AL-KAH-ZAH-LEE], who was blacklisted by the US over his alleged role in the killings of demonstrators in Iraq.
Third, today, under the Sign category of FAMINES — According to The Watchers News, At least 890,000 acres of crops have been affected in Rajasthan’s [RAH-JUS-THAN] 10 districts in the midst of the state’s worst locust infestation in 60 years. According to the Locust Warning Organization, the current wave of attack was by pink locusts– adult locusts with very high capacity to consume and stamina for migrating on a long-distance. Furthermore, the pink locust is the most destructive among all breeds. At 30 to 45 days old, they already have very strong wings than the usual black and yellow ones. LWO added that these locusts fly in groups, with speed faster than other breeds. They are also “fatal for rabi [RA-BEE] crops in progress,” said MJ Gujjar [GUHJ-JER], head of LWO. Rabi [RA-BEE] crops are agricultural crops in India that are sown in winter and then harvested in the spring. Local farmers and assessments by officials showed that swarms of these deadly insects have eaten up 75% of standing crops in Sri Ganganagar [SHREE GANG-GA-NAG-AR], the hardest-hit district.
Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.
Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.
Our topic for today is titled “A Variety of Views, Part 1” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”
One of the challenges of understanding Bible prophecy is that people approach it with different methods of interpretation. Several approaches to eschatology, or the study of the last days, have arise in the Christian church. Some people even refuse to consider prophecy at all, preferring to dismiss it as hopelessly confusing or generally irrelevant. But evangelical Christians have always take prophecy seriously.
The issue at stake among evangelicals has generally been how a person interprets prophecy. Three main school of thought have been proposed. Most evangelical Christians are premillennial, but some are amillenial or postmillennial.
Postmillennial. This school of thought asserts that the Millennium (the 1000-year reign of Christ mentioned in Revelation 20:1-3, 6, 7) is to be interpreted symbolically and is synonymous with the church age. Satan’s power is viewed as being bound by the power of the gospel. Postmillenialists believe that during this Millennium (the church age), the church is called to conquer unbelief, convert the masses, and govern society by the mandate of biblical law. Only after Christianity succeeds on earth will Christ return and announce that His kingdom has been realized. Advocates of postmillenialism urge believers to take dominion over the earth and its political governments in order to usher in the kingdom of God on earth.
Those who hold to this perspective believe that the world will continue to get better and better until the entire world is Christianized, at which time Christ will return to a kingdom already flourishing in peace. Although this view was popular at the beginning of the twentieth century, it was all but eliminated as a result of the World Wars, the Great Depression, and the overwhelming escalation of moral evil in society. Many who previously held postmillennial views adopted the amillennial position. However, postmillennialism is currently gaining some resurgence. It continues to promote the entrance of the kingdom prior to the return of the King.
Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic in our next podcast.
In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.
Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. It is a collection of what he called “prophetic tracts” that focus on the believer’s duty in light of the signs which point to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
This section is titled, “What Time Is It?” (Part 26). J.C. Ryle writes:
But perhaps this address has fallen into the hands of one who is undecided and halting between two opinions. Reader, are you that man? Then remember these words, “The night is far spent, and the day is at hand.”
What are you doing? You hear, you listen, you wish, you desire, you mean, you intend, you hope, you resolve, but you go no further. You see the ark, but you will not go in. You see the bread of life, but you do not eat it. You wait. And yet time gets on. The devil is saying over you, “I shall have this soul before long.” Oh! come out from the world, and linger no more. Take up the cross. Cast away vain excuses. Confess Christ before men. Beware, I say, lest you make up your mind too late. Again I say, beware.
If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.
Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
If you are not ready for the Return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how:
First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…” Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.
Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
