According to Christian Post, Puerto Ricans have been praying under a massive cloud of uncertainty about the future since suffering yet another 5.9-magnitude tremor after a 6.4-magnitude earthquake rocked the island last Tuesday, leaving one person dead and significant damage to buildings. “A prayer circle in Ponce, Puerto Rico with a rainbow above at a time when earthquakes aftershocks are causing damage & fear – here, there’s a refusal to be mentally defeated, and for many people, a faith fueled belief that things will be better,” CBS This Morning lead correspondent, David Begnaud shared in a tweet from Puerto Rico Sunday amid reports of thousands sleeping outdoors to escape calamity. The tremor on Saturday was about 8 miles south of Indios in the Caribbean Sea, the US Geological Survey said, at a depth of 6.2 miles. On Sunday, the USGS also highlighted three likely scenarios that could play out for the earthquake-battered island over the next 30 days, including a 3% chance of “an earthquake significantly larger than the M6.4 that occurred on the 7 January.” “A much less likely scenario than the previous two scenarios is that recent earthquakes could trigger an earthquake significantly larger than the M6.4 that occurred on the 7 January (i.e., M7.0 and above). While this is a very small probability, if such an earthquake were to occur, it would have serious impacts on communities nearby. This size earthquake would also trigger its own aftershock sequence, so the rate of small and moderate earthquakes would increase again,” the agency stated.

According to Christian Post, Popular faith leaders Beth Moore and Christine Caine awoke early Monday morning to join in prayer for their peer, Priscilla Shirer, as she underwent lung surgery. Shirer, who recently lost her mother, Lois Evans, to a rare form of cancer, revealed on Facebook last week that doctors will be removing an entire lobe of her left lung after discovering a nodule that contained some “dangerous irregularities.” “The surgery was delayed but I cannot put it off any longer without jeopardizing my own health,” the Christian speaker and actress said. The morning of her surgery, Moore and Caine shared on Instagram that they were headed to the hospital at 6 a.m. “armed and dangerous” with anointing oil and the Bible to cover the mom of three in prayer. “In the cab on the way to the hospital where our friend is having surgery. Armed and dangerous. And yes we will no doubt march around the hospital 7 times like it’s Jericho,” Moore wrote on Instagram along with a video of the two ministers in a cab on the way to an undisclosed hospital in Dallas. “We may stop short of praise dancing with banners in the waiting room,” she added. Caine also shared the video and wrote, “Sometimes you need a double barreled approach when you are going into active intercessory prayer for your friend who is having surgery. This is real sisterhood. No woman left alone. Whether she wants to be or not! Spirit and Truth working together” The two shared that the anointing oil and the Bible they carried were a perfect representation of the Holy Spirit and the Word of truth. They went to the hospital ready to rally around their sister in Christ.

CBS, No. 1 LSU completed one of the most impressive seasons in college football history on Monday night, storming back from a first-half deficit to take down No. 3 Clemson in the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship. The 42-25 win for LSU was a fitting finale for Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow, who finished one of the greatest individual seasons of all-time by shattering even more records in the game that gave LSU its first national championship since the 2007 season. Burrow finished the game with 463 yards on 31-of-49 passing, totalling six touchdowns (five passing) with no turnovers. He set new national title game records for passing yards and touchdowns, broke Deshaun Watson’s record for total yards in a championship game and broke the NCAA single-season record for touchdown passes in the process. The win is a crowning achievement for Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff, especially offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger and passing game coordinator Joe Brady, for the way they were able to transform not just the scheme of their offense but the mentality of the entire team. The aggressiveness that comes with an up-tempo spread attack was adopted on every side of the ball, and their relentlessness ultimately became the defining quality of their dominance.

According to AP, Jimmy Johnson, who coached the Dallas Cowboys to two Super Bowl championships in the 1990s, has been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The hall announced his selection Sunday night as part of a centennial class that was chosen on Wednesday by a special committee. Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher was revealed Saturday night as the other coach being inducted. “The only thing I can think of is all the assistant coaches who worked for me, all the great players who played for me are the reason,” said a teary-eyed Johnson, 76. “I can’t talk. “This is so special to me because when you put in the work that we put in, it is nice for those people to appreciate it.” One of his best players, Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman, could be seen tearing up as he heard the announcement from Green Bay, where he was announcing the Seahawks-Packers playoff game. Hall of Fame President David Baker made the presentation during halftime of Fox’s telecast. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said, ““We’re so happy that the Hall of Fame has recognized Jimmy Johnson for what he is: A great coach. To Jimmy I say, ‘The stars were aligned and our dreams came true when we joined the Dallas Cowboys.’”

According to the Daily Mail, The Queen today made an historic announcement that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would step back as senior Royals and split their time between Canada and the UK in an agreement to be finalised within days. Her Majesty makes clear her deep disappointment at the couple’s decision to quit their Royal duties and says there will be ‘a transition period’ while the final settlement between the Family and the Duke and Duchess is hammered out. The unprecedented statement came after a two-hour summit at Sandringham this afternoon between the Queen and Princes Charles, William and Harry, with Meghan believed to have dialled in from Canada. The monarch said: ‘Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family. My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family. Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives. It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK. These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days.’ After spending the afternoon bunkered down in crunch talks inside the grand house’s Long Library, Charles, William and Harry left the Norfolk estate in separate cars. The Queen, who is desperate to chart a way out of the crisis raging through the Family ranks, has ordered courtiers to double down efforts to develops blueprint for the Sussexes future, to be completed within days.

In closing, remember, God loves you. He always has and He always will. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” If you don’t know Jesus as your Saviour, today is a good day to get to know Him. Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead for you. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart and He will. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
