Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #665.
My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.
First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.
The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ gave them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the Coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
First, today, under the Sign category of RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF ISRAEL — According to The Daily Star, A Bible prophecy has allegedly been “fulfilled” after an astonishing video showed rivers appearing to flow from Jerusalem towards the Dead Sea. Record-breaking volumes of rain have fallen across Israel, with more than 40cm of rain falling north of Jerusalem in what has broken a 51-year-old record. Deadly flash floods across the nation have already claimed the lives of a young couple in Tel Aviv. But a new terrifying video showing a torrent of water appearing and flooding a road has led some to believe a biblical prophecy is being fulfilled. The video is said to be taken near the Arugot [AH-RU-GOHT] River (roughly 18 miles of south of Jerusalem). Stunned witnesses stop in their tracks and a car that was about to drive across the road is forced to a halt. The river then rushes eastwards, towards the Dead Sea, and disappears from sight beneath the crest of the hill. Breaking Israel News picked up on the video and has linked it to biblical passages in Ezekiel and Genesis. According to the Bible, the valley where the Dead Sea is now was originally a “well-watered” land before it was destroyed along with Sodom and Gomorrah. In Genesis 13:10, it states: “…Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of the Jordan, that it was well-watered everywhere before Hashem [HAH-SHUM] destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah…” It then draws attention to a prophecy in Ezekiel 47:8-9 which the “eastern region” will one day be transformed. The passage reads: “Then said he unto me: ‘These waters issue forth toward the eastern region and shall go down into the Arabah [AIR-AH-BAH] (a barren basin close to the Dead Sea) and when they shall enter into the sea of the putrid waters the waters shall be healed. And it shall come to pass that every living creature wherewith it swarmeth whithersoever the rivers shall come shall live and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, for these waters are come thither that all things be healed and may live whithersoever the river cometh.”
Second, today, under the Sign category of THE RISE OF GOG & MAGOG — According to SpaceWar.com, Russian President Vladimir Putin observed massive military drills off the coast of Moscow-annexed Crimea that involved test launches of cruise and hypersonic missiles. Russia’s commander-in-chief was on board the cruiser Marshal Ustinov [OO-STEEN-OF] to watch the joint drills by the Northern and Black Sea Fleets. He watched test launches of Kalibr [KAL-EE-BER] (Caliber) cruise missiles and Kinzhal [KIN-ZELL] (Dagger) hypersonic missiles among others. Russia annexed the peninsula of Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, in a move condemned by the West that was followed by the outbreak of an insurgency in eastern Ukraine. The conflict has claimed more than 13,000 lives. Exercises in the Black Sea featured frigates and a large anti-submarine ship as well as a submarine, large landing ships and fast attack guided missile craft, while fighter jets and bombers also took part. Putin has repeatedly touted the Kinzhal [KIN-ZELL] missile, which he first unveiled as part of an array of next-generation nuclear weapons during his annual state-of-the-nation address in 2018. In late December, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu [SER-GHEY SHOY-GUH] reported to Putin that the first Avangard [AH-VAN-GAARD] hypersonic missiles had been put into service, in a move hailed as a major coup for Moscow. Analysts have said Russia is the first country to put intercontinental ballistic missiles armed with hypersonic weapons in active service.
Third, today, under the Sign category of EARTHQUAKES IN DIVERS PLACES — According to The Associated Press, A magnitude 5.9 quake shook Puerto Rico, causing further damage along the island’s southern coast, where previous recent quakes have toppled homes and schools. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake hit 8 miles southeast of Guanica [GWAN-EE-KAH] at a shallow depth of 3 miles. Puerto Rico’s Electric Power Authority said outages were reported across much of southern Puerto Rico and crews were assessing possible damage at power plants. There were no immediate reports of injuries. The quake, which initially had been calculated at magnitude 6.0, was the strongest shake yet since a magnitude 6.4 quake — the strongest to hit the island in a century — struck before dawn on Tuesday, knocking out power across Puerto Rico and leaving many without water. Hundreds of quakes have shaken the island since the new year, though most were too slight to be felt. NASA reported Friday that the quakes had moved the land in parts of southern Puerto Rico as much as 5.5 inches, based on satellite images before and after the temblors.
Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.
Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.
Our topic for today is titled “Prophetic Interpretation” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”
We must understand not only the benefits of studying prophecy but also the keys to prophetic interpretation. Every imaginable speculation has arisen as to the identity of the Antichrist, the date of the rapture, and the beginning of the Battle of Armageddon. To make sense of all this, consider a simple paradigm.
Facts. Prophetic revelation includes clearly stated facts: Christ will return for His own, He will judge the world, there will be a time of great trouble on the earth at the end of the age, the final conflict will be won by Christ, and so on. These basic facts are clearly stated in Scripture.
Assumptions. Factual prophecy only tells us so much and no more. Beyond that we must make certain assumptions. If these are correct, they will lead to valid conclusions, but if not, they may lead to baseless speculations. For example, we may assume that Russia will invade Israel in the last days. Whether that is factual depends on the legitimacy of our interpretation of Ezekiel’s Magog prophecy. To say we don’t need to worry about Russia because it will be destroyed is foolish. That is only an assumption based upon one’s interpretation of Magog’s identity.
Speculations. These are purely calculated guesses based on assumptions. In many cases they have no basis in prophetic fact at all. For example, the Bible says the number of the Antichrist is 666. We can only speculate what this means. We may assume that it is a literal number that will appear on things in the last days. When one prominent evangelist saw the number 666 prefixed on automobile license plates in Israel a few years ago, he speculated that the “mark of the Beast” had already arrived in the Holy Land.
Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic in our next podcast.
In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.
Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. It is a collection of what he called “prophetic tracts” that focus on the believer’s duty in light of the signs which point to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
This section is titled, “What Time Is It?” (Part 25). J.C. Ryle writes:
Let there be light in your heart continually; Christ dwelling there by faith,–felt, known, and experienced by your soul. Let there be light in your life continually; Christ reflected there, followed, imitated, and copied. Seek to be a light in the world, and nothing less,–a bright light, a clear light, a light that men can see afar off. Do this, and you will put on the armour of light.
Live as if you thought Christ might come at any time. Do everything as if you did it for the last time. Say everything as if you said it for the last time. Read every chapter in the Bible as if you did not know whether you would be allowed to read it again. Pray every prayer as if you felt it might be your last opportunity. Hear every sermon as if you were hearing once and for ever. This is the way to be found ready. This is the way to turn Christ’s second appearing to good account. This is the way to put on the armour of light.
And now perhaps this address has fallen into the hands of some careless, thoughtless, unconverted person. Are you that man? Then, remember these words, “The night is far spent, and the day is at hand.”
What are you doing? You eat, you drink, you sleep, you dress, you work, you buy, you sell, you laugh, you read, but you do nothing for your soul. Hell is opening its mouth for you, and you are careless. Christ is coming to judge the world, and you are unprepared. Time hurries on, and you are not ready for eternity. Oh! awake to a sense of your danger, and repent this day. Awake and call upon your God, before it is too late to pray. Awake and seek the Lord Jesus Christ, before the door is shut, and the day of wrath begins. Alas! you may be thought wise and clever in this world, but living as you do you act the part of a madman.
If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.
Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
If you are not ready for the Return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how:
First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…” Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.
Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
