The Road Daniel Whyte III Took to Christ December 19, 1979 (GLMX #415)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #415 titled, “The Road Daniel Whyte III Took to Christ December 19, 1979.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

WHAT IS THE ROMANS ROAD?
Simply put, the Romans Road shows the way to Heaven. It uses points from the book of Romans in the Bible to explain God’s gift of salvation. At each stop we learn something new about why we need salvation, how God has provided for it, and how we receive it.

As you look at each of the six points outlined here, take time to reflect on what God’s Word has to say. Remember that the book of Romans was written to people just like you and me: people living in a busy culture, trying to make sense of what is true and what is most important in life.

The Romans Road describes the only way to Heaven. Study it, learn it, and follow it!

1. EVERYONE NEEDS SALVATION
The Bible states in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

2. JESUS DIED FOR OUR SALVATION
The Bible says in Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

3. SALVATION IS A GIFT
The Bible states in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

4. WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE
The Bible says in Romans 11:6, “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace…”

5. SALVATION COMES THROUGH FAITH
The Bible states in Romans 4:5, “But to him that….believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”

6. GOD SAVES ALL WHO CALL UPON HIM
The Bible states in Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

The Bible says there are two roads in life: one is the way to eternal joy in Heaven, and the other leads to eternal punishment in Hell. Which road are you on?

Follow the Romans Road to salvation today. Recognize that you are a sinner and that your sin must be judged by God. See that Jesus died to pay the penalty for your sin, but that you must choose to accept His provision. Understand that you cannot earn your way to Heaven through good works or religious activity. Now turn to God and put your faith in Jesus Christ who died for you and rose again.

The Bible states in Romans 10:9,10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation..”

If you want to be saved from the wrath to come and from an eternity in Hell, and if you believe that Jesus Christ suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead and you are willing to trust Jesus Christ with all of your heart so you can go to Heaven, please pray with me what is called the sinner’s prayer: Holy Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I admit that I have sinned against You and that I have broken Your Ten Commandments. I have lied before. I have stolen things before. I have lusted after people and things before. I have dishonored and disobeyed my parents. I have taken Your holy Name in vain. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please have mercy and grace upon my soul and forgive me of all of my sins, my failures, and my faults. As I now believe in Your Holy Son the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for my sins, was buried and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to repent of my sins past. Help me to turn from my old, evil life and follow You in the new life. For it is in Your Name I pray. Amen.
