PODCAST: Why Does Bible Prophecy Matter?, Part 2 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #658 with Daniel Whyte III)

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #658.

My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ gave them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the Coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

First, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to Israel National News, The Al-Quds [AL-KUDS] Brigades, the military wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, announced the introduction of the new Buraq [BU-RAK] 120 rocket to its arsenal. The group said in a statement: “We announce the introduction of a new Buraq [BU-RAK] 120 for the first time for military service, a purely Palestinian jihadist industry. The hands of its fighters in all military units are still on the trigger and operate according to an integrated military system and are at the disposal of the movement’s leadership.” The group added that the death of their leader, Bahaa Abu al-Ata [BA-HA AH-BU AL- AH-TA], following a successful attack by the IDF would only increase their strength and solidarity. The statement also thanked their ally, the Islamic Republic of Iran, for supporting Palestinian resistance in various forms.

Second, today, under the Sign category of THE RISE OF GOG AND MAGOG — According to SpaceDaily.com, Turkey will use the S-400 missile defence system it has bought from Russia despite the US threat of sanctions. The purchase of the Russian system and its subsequent delivery of the system has been a major source of friction between two NATO allies Turkey and the United States. Last month the US said Turkey would be spared sanctions under a 2017 law if the S-400 system is not turned on. Ismail Demir [IS-MAY-IL DEH-MERE], the head of the Defence Industry Directorate, said: “It is not a correct approach to say ‘we will not use for someone else’s sake’ a system we had purchased out of our need and we paid that amount of money. We will do our duty and (the system) will become usable. How it will be used is a decision to be made later. We should respect the agreement we signed and that’s what suits us as a country.”

Third, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to Israel National News, Saudi Arabia’s cabinet accused Iran of being “deceptive and evasive” about its nuclear program. A cabinet statement carried on the state Saudi Press Agency and quoted by Reuters also called on Iran to cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency and its inspectors. The statement comes a day after the IAEA released a report confirming that Iran is restarting uranium enrichment at the underground Fordow [FOR-DOE] facility, in violation of the 2015 nuclear deal it signed with world powers. Iran has gradually scaled back its compliance with the 2015 deal in response to US President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from the agreement last May. Iran and Saudi Arabia are regional rivals which back opposing sides in the wars in Yemen and Syria, where the Iranian regime supports President Bashar Al-Assad while the Saudis back the rebels trying to oust him.

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “Why Does Bible Prophecy Matter?, Part 2” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”

Studying unfulfilled prophecy promotes holy living. “Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. A proper understanding of what the future holds directs our lives toward holiness now. Our goal is to live now in such a way that we have no regrets in the future when we stand before our Lord.

Studying unfulfilled prophecy compels us to share the gospel. When we understand that Christ’s rapture could take place at any moment, “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye” according to the apostle Paul, we cannot help but long to share the reason for the hope within us.

Studying unfulfilled prophecy brings blessing. In Revelation 1:3, John proclaims, “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.” In contrast, Revelation also teaches a curse upon those who add to the words of its prophecies or take away from them.

Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic in our next podcast.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.

Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. It is a collection of what he called “prophetic tracts” that focus on the believer’s duty in light of the signs which point to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

This section is titled, “What Time Is It?” (Part 18). J.C. Ryle writes:

Yet a little while, and believers shall part for ever with disease. The sick and wearied ones, who have mourned over their seeming uselessness to the Church,–the weak and infirm, who have had the will to labour, but not the power,–the feeble and bed-ridden, who have waited long-drawn years in quiet chambers, till their eyes know every crack and speck on their walls,–all, all shall be set free. They shall each have a glorious body like their Lord’s.

Yet a little while, and mourning believers shall part for ever with their tears. Every wound in their hearts shall be completely healed. Every empty place and gap in their affections shall be entirely filled up. They shall find that those who have died in the Lord were not lost, but gone before. They shall see that infinite wisdom arranged every bereavement, by which one was taken and another left. They shall magnify the Lord together with those who were once their companions in tribulation, and acknowledge that He did all things well, and led them by a right way.

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

CLOSING PRAYER
…….

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

If you are not ready for the Return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how:

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…” Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
