PODCAST: Prophecies Fulfilled in the Life of Christ, Part 5 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #655 with Daniel Whyte III)

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #655.

My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ gave them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the Coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

First, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to The Times of Israel, Israeli Air Force chief Amikam Norkin [AM-EE-KAM NOR-KIN] said the military’s multi-tiered network of air defense systems were “on alert” amid a general threat of attack by Iran. In recent weeks, the military has begun to believe that Tehran intends to eventually retaliate against Israel’s regular airstrikes against its forces and proxies in the region. The Israel Defense Forces believes this could take the form of a large-scale attack involving cruise missiles and attack drones, similar to the strike on Saudi Arabia’s Aramco petroleum facility that was attributed to Iran. Earlier this week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran intends to attack Israel from Yemen, which may make intercepting such a strike more difficult as the IDF’s intermediate and long-range air defenses are better positioned to shoot down incoming attacks from Israel’s north, rather than from the south.

Second, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to Israel National News, Brigadier General Kioomars Heidari [KY-OO-MERS HI-DAHR-EE], the commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Force, announced the production of a new model of Farpad-type drones. The drones were transferred to the Iranian military’s operational units after operational tests were successful. Heidari [HI-DAHR-EE] claimed the new drone is intended for ongoing security, surveillance, searches, border control and other similar missions, and is intended to be used by the offensive infantry, rapid intervention units and intelligence units. He further said that the drone is controlled from a ground station, it was equipped with electronic attack protection systems and has the ability to photograph targets. Iran often boasts of its military accomplishments, though it is not always possible to say with certainty that it is telling the truth about those accomplishments.

Third, today, under the Sign category of RISE OF GOG & MAGOG — According to Reuters, Russia’s most advanced new nuclear-powered submarine test-launched a Bulava [BOO-LA-VA] intercontinental ballistic missile for the first time and hit a target thousands of kilometres away, the Defence Ministry said. The test was carried out while the Borei [BOR-RAY] -class vessel was submerged and comes amid arms control tensions between Moscow and the West following the demise of a landmark Cold War-era nuclear pact that has sparked fears of a burgeoning arms race. The launch was conducted in the White Sea off Russia’s north with a dummy payload reaching a test site in the Far East Russian region of Kamchatka [KAM-CHAAT-KUH], the ministry said. The Knyaz [NY-YAZ] Vladimir submarine is the first upgraded 955A model to be produced in the Borei [BOR-RAY] class of Russian nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines. It will enter service with Russia’s Northern Fleet at the end of this year once it has completed trials including weapons tests, the fleet’s commander, Vice Admiral Alexander Moiseev [MOY-EH-SEEV] said.

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “Prophecies Fulfilled in the Life of Christ” (Part 5)” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”

These are just three of the approximately 120 distinct Old Testament prophecies of the first coming of Christ. They are like pieces of a puzzle. Each presents a distinct element of the Savior’s life and ministry, but the whole picture portrayed by these pieces can be seen only after their fulfillment. Not until Jesus came did these prophecies come into clear relation with one another. The chances of all these prophecies being fulfilled in the life of one man is one chance in 84 followed by 131 zeroes.

These 120 prophecies of Christ’s first coming are overwhelming evidence of the divine origin of Scripture, the messiahship of Jesus, and the truth of Christianity. When viewed as a whole, the collective impact of these prophecies and their fulfillment in the Gospels cannot be easily dismissed by unbelievers. Again, the mathematical possibility of all these predictions being fulfilled in one person is absolutely astounding.

Louis Lapides [LAH-PEH-DEES] grew up in a Jewish family in New Jersey. During a time of reflection on his own spiritual journey, he realized that the description of the Messiah in Isaiah 53 perfectly fit the portrait of Jesus of Nazareth. Now a pastor, his studies and life experiences have led him from skepticism regarding messianic prophecies concerning Jesus to personally embracing Him as Messiah in his own life.

In an interview, Lapides [LAH-PEH-DEES]was asked, “If the prophecies were so obvious to you and pointed so unquestionably toward Jesus, why don’t more Jews accept Him as their Messiah?”

He answered, “In my case, I took the time to read them.” In many cases, we undervalue the impact of the fulfilled prophecies regarding Jesus Christ because of our lack of study regarding how specifically the Bible has spoken. In out study together, we’ll discover that Scripture has frequently spoken very specifically regarding many events, both those fulfilled in the past as well as those that are yet to be fulfilled.

Lord willing, we will begin looking at “What About Future Prophecies?” in our next podcast.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.

Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. It is a collection of what he called “prophetic tracts” that focus on the believer’s duty in light of the signs which point to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

This section is titled, “What Time Is It?” (Part 15). J.C. Ryle writes:

5. What shall we say to the drying up of the Mahometan [MAY-HOM-EH-TAN] power? Two hundred and fifty years ago, men doubted whether the Turks might not overrun all Europe! No army seemed able to resist them. Province after province fell into their hands. When Martin Luther in his sermons wanted an illustration of boundless worldly power, he would choose for his example “the Turkish empire!” But now all is changed. Without much outward violence the Mahometan [MAY-HOM-EH-TAN] strength has gradually dwindled away. There has been a collapse, a consumption, a worm at the heart of all their might. In spite of all the help of the Christian allies, the Turkish empire is like a man sick of a sore disease. He may rally for a time by the help of strong remedies, and by the admission of new elements into his constitution, but he will never again be an exclusive, persecuting, purely Mahometan [MAY-HOM-EH-TAN] power. The days of pure, intolerant Mahometanism [MAY-HOM-EH-TAN-ISM] seem past and gone for ever. And what saith the Scripture? I quote symbolical prophecy with reverence, and readily allow I may be wrong in its application; but the passage I refer to is very remarkable:–“The sixth angel poured out his vial on the river Euphrates; and the waters thereof were dried up, that the way of the kings of the East might be prepared. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Behold I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.”

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

If you are not ready for the Return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how:

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…” Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
