Inspire Change was formed by the NFL after an agreement with a group of players who protested during the national anthem the social and racial injustice in the country. NFL has partnered with Jay-Z and Roc Nation to co-produce its entertainment including the Super Bowl halftime show.
APNews reports that Jay-Z has been a strong supporter of Colin Kaepernick, who has not played in the NFL the past two seasons and is not with the team now. He has turned down invitations to perform at the Super Bowl, as has Rihanna.
Other performers, including Rapsody, will host an “Inspire Change Speed Mentorship” in which she and others will mentor 65 young men and women between the ages of 13-19.
