Five people were killed and seven others hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash in South Texas on Saturday.
Sgt. Ruben San Miguel, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said the crash occurred at 10:56 a.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 59, five miles northeast of Victoria.
San Miguel said there were 10 passengers total in the van. The passengers are all related and were traveling south for vacation, San Miguel added.
San Miguel said a semi pulling a flatbed trailer was traveling northbound on the highway before it was hit from behind the left rear by a 2016 Ford van.
The Ford van then went over the grassy median before hitting a 2015 Ford F-250 pickup that was traveling southbound head on.
The female driver of the van, two adult male passengers, and one boy and girl were found dead on scene, San Miguel said.
