Dramatic bodycam footage captured a deputy saving the life of a newborn who was choking. Deputy William Kimbro (inset) pulled over a car for speeding in Summerville, South Carolina, on June 11. Passengers told Kimbro that they were rushing a 12-day-old baby girl named Ryleigh to the hospital who stopped breathing after drinking from a bottle. The deputy started performing first aid on the infant – including rescue breaths and massaging her chest – until EMS arrived about five minutes later (bottom right). Video shows Ryleigh’s chest moving up and down and she lets out a few cries. A spokeswoman told DailyMail.com that the baby was taken to the hospital for observation and appears to be doing well. Kimbro was awarded the ‘Life-Saving Medal’ from Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis.
