“Jessie’s Girl” singer Rick Springfield cancelled his Dominican Republic music festival Monday as the number of mysteriously sick and dying tourists in the country continues to rise, according to a report.
The 1980s hitmaker called off the event, dubbed Rick Springfield & Friends, which had been set for November and rescheduled it for next year, according to TMZ.
“In an abundance of caution and for the peace of mind and well-being of my fans, band and crew, the ‘Rick Springfield & Friends’ event in Punta Cana is being rescheduled to take place at Hard Rock Hotel Cancun in 2020,” the musician announced, according to the gossip site.
He added, “[The] safety and well-being of our amazing fans, band and crew will always be the most important consideration in any situation.”
