Loving Houston to Hold Free June 11th Workshop Aimed at Getting Churches to Partner With City’s Schools

Loving Houston is continuing its fight to help children reach better futures and is spreading the word to get more people involved in its cause.

Loving Houston has scheduled its Loving Houston 101 Workshop, followed by a Leader Luncheon, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 5501 Main St. in the Fondren Hall. To register for the free event, go to https://tinyurl.com/y5cr3mnd.

The event is geared for Houstonians “interested in how their church can begin or expand a partnership with a local school.”

According to a news release, Amy Taylor from St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and Marcie Coleman, assistant principal of MacGregor Elementary, “will share details of their church-school partnership. Lawrence Allen of the Texas State Board of Education will discuss the legal guidelines and protocol for church-school partnerships.”

After the 101 Workshop, “partnership leaders will gather for a Leader Luncheon to share ideas, and learn about available resources.”
