A dog owner has sparked a viral craze by getting her pet to come to her by tweaking her fingers at her.
In a video posted on Twitter, a woman sits on her sofa with her pet dog curled up on the end and looking at her.
When she points her hand at the dog with her palm open, the animal pricks her ears up before rushing over to her when she tweaks her fingers.
The dog then puts her head into her owner’s open hand and the owner strokes her.
The owner, Twitter user @rebelliousmary, wrote above the video, which has been viewed nearly 400,000 times: ‘She is so precious.’
Other similar videos have since been shared widely on Twitter.
One, which has been viewed one million times, shows someone directing the gesture at a man sitting at a computer.
He looks up confused at the camera before repeating the gesture back at them.
Twitter users responding to the video pick up on the confusion, with one saying, ‘his face is like a toddler trying to understand what is happening.’
Another says, ‘this is the best one yet!’.
The aim of the craze appears to have been explained in a Twitter thread, which says: ‘When you see this hand gesture you will either know what it means or not.
‘If successful, the other person should place their chin on the palm of your hand.
One teenager does seem to understand however and puts her chin in her friend’s hand when he opens his palm.
