One person is dead and another was arrested and charged with murder after investigators say an altercation led to a shooting in East Lubbock early Sunday morning.
Steven Sanders, 38, is in the Lubbock County Detention Center charged with the murder of 28-year-old Kirvyn Alexander after the shooting at the Hitchen Post club located at 1902 East Broadway, said Lubbock Police spokeswoman Tiffany Taylor.
At approximately 3:40 a.m., police received a call of shots fired inside the Hitchen Post.
Multiple officers responded to the club and located a deceased male later identified Alexander, said Taylor.
“Due to the nature of the incident, investigators with the Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit were called to the scene to begin an immediate investigation into the fatal shooting,” she said.
