The daughter of a prominent pastor died Monday, about a month after she was hospitalized following a house fire in Cedar Hill that killed her parents and sister.
Police confirmed the death of Darryn Keahey, 17, who was hospitalized after the Feb. 28 fire at her family’s home in the 700 block of Lovern Street.
Her father, Eugene Keahey, 52, her mother, Deanna Wilson-Keahey, 51, and her sister, Camryn Keahey, 15, died in the fire. Officials believe the fire was intentionally set.
A GoFundMe set up for the family after the fire said Darryn had been treated for extensive third-degree burns.
The fire has been investigated as a crime since officials found what they thought were accelerants in the home.
Police spokesman Lt. Colin Chenault said the investigation is at somewhat of a “standstill” while investigators wait for results from the Dallas County medical examiner’s office and the state fire marshal.
The state fire marshal’s office is analyzing evidence to determine where the fire started and whether accelerants were used, Chenault said.
