A student has gone viral after sharing tear-jerking footage of the moment she surprised her depressed father with a puppy.

American college pupil Yvonne took to Twitter on Monday to post a clip of the moment her dad broke down into tears after meeting the new addition to the family.

Explaining that he had been unhappy ever since their family dog passed away, her footage racked up over 7million views in just a day.

Followers admitted the video moved them to tears, as gained over 100,000 retweets and over 535,000 likes.
