A high-profile counter-terrorism prosecutor has departed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office, according to Yahoo News. It may be another sign the investigation is winding down.
Peter Carr, a spokesman for the special counsel’s office released a statement on Zainab Ahmad’s departure.
“Zainab Ahmad has concluded her detail with the Special Counsel’s Office but will continue to represent the office on specific pending matters that were assigned to her during her detail,” the statement said.
While working for Mueller’s office, Ahmad most recently had handled the guilty plea of retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.
And now, a new USA Today – Suffolk University poll finds public trust in Mueller has dropped.
