The woman yelling in the video, whose name remains unknown, has been fired from her teaching job at The Awty International School.
Here are two excerpts from the west Houston private school’s statement to parents and staff, which was emailed to Chron.com.
“While the video only captures a portion of the exchange and we do not have all of the facts, it is clear that the teacher’s words and behaviors are counter to our school’s values.
While the language and behavior is clearly inappropriate, it is important for me to share with you that we had not previously observed any conduct even remotely similar to that depicted on the recording.
Nonetheless, as a result of this behavior, the teacher’s employment at the school has been terminated, effective immediately.”
A Westchase neighborhood Kroger was the site of a racially-charged verbal assault on Sunday.
Mai Mohamed, who lives near the store, said she was standing by the water jugs outside the store (located at 9919 Westheimer Road near the Sam Houston Tollway), when she claims another customer began verbally attacking her.
Earlier this week, Mohamed told Chron.com that she walked back to her car to collect her phone and returned to the scene. The unidentified woman also returned, and is seen on the video directing a string of expletive-laden insults at Mohamed. She said that she did not know what triggered the verbal attack.
In addition the obscenities, the woman can be heard telling Mohamed to “go back to your country.”
