Actor and director Mario Van Peebles will return to Mobile the first weekend in February to premiere his new movie ‘Armed.’ It will be the culmination of three nights of events featuring the actor to help benefit the oldest black Episcopal Church in the state.

The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd was established in 1854. Three nights of events beginning Thursday, January 31st through Saturday, February 2nd are planned.

The first night is a black-tie event featuring Van Peebles at Heron Lakes Country Club. Friday night, a musical event at the church will be the debut of the new high-end digital pipe organ acquired by the church from Broussard Music in Mobile. They hope the organ will enhance services and other community events. Then Saturday night is the premiere of ‘Armed’ at the Saenger, with Q and A with Van Peebles.
